The Basilica of Bom Jesus is one of the richest Church in goa covered with marble and inlaid with precious stones and paintings depicting the life of St.Francis Xavier's life , the church is located 10 kilometers from Panaji the capital city.
In every 10 years the body of St.Francis Xavier is displayed at the Basilica for public viewing on his death anniversary, the last display was held ij the year 2014 so now it will be displayed in 2024. The church is open to visit from 9am to 6:30 pm on week days and from 10 am to 6:30 pm on Sunday .
